1. Introduction

Some applications require the measurement with different detectors, i.e. in the UV and in the visible. The universal display unit Photometer-Radiometer Type 211 fits for these tasks due to its built-in microprocessor. Only one instrument is used with different detectors without the necessity for the user to deal with multiplication factors. The user can select from the wide range of PRC Krochmann’s Photometer and Radiometer Heads the ones suitable for him. Then the instrument can be calibrated off factory with those detectors or enter the calibration data himself. Due to this the user may order certain detectors later on. The following general types are available:

2. Instrument Description The Photometer-Radiometer Type 211 display unit provides an alphanumerical vacuum fluorescent display. Due to this an excellent readability is ensured for all environmental conditions. A menu controlled operation via the built-in keyboard is simple. Beside the measurement of energetic quantities dosimetric data can be achieved for (almost) infinite duration. The required input signal is a photocurrent, which is in fact measured in a short-circuit mode. Therefore best linearity is achieved. Five ranges in steps of ten provide a large reading range, suitable for most applications. In special applications a range extension is possible. Then the instrument can either be equipped with up to 7 ranges. The range setting is made either automatically or manually. An analog output, RS 232 serial interface, USB adapter and a supply output for thermostatically controlled photometer heads are available optionally.
